    FOCUS ON:

Why do employers need to make reasonable adjustments in the workplace?

Section 20 of the Equality Act 2010 imposes a legal duty on employers in the UK to address workplace realities which place disabled people at a disadvantage, compared to those who are not. Having the correct workplace support can transform the lives of employees with disabilities and enable them to flourish.

MyPath delivers reasonable adjustments in the workplace through seamless end-to-end service from point of referral through to solution delivery, with dedicated and qualified staff providing a compliant workplace adjustment and neurodiversity solution to those in need.

    FAQs

Workplace adjustments offer additional support (unique to an individual’s needs) enabling them to do their job.
These are workplace adjustments that employers are required to make under the Equality Act 2010 to create appropriate workplace conditions, enabling employees to perform their job roles.
Under the Equality Act 2010, organisations have to make changes in their approach or provision to ensure that services are accessible to everyone, regardless of a disability. Reasonable adjustments in the workplace can mean alterations to buildings by providing lifts, wide doors, ramps and tactile signage, but may also mean changes to policies, procedures and staff training to ensure that services work equally well for people with learning disabilities (see more at Reasonable adjustments for workers with disabilities or health conditions - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).
MyPath supports business services centered on the employee with a hidden or physical disability and the colleagues working with that employee. In addition, support is offered to employees who are studying for professional qualifications as well as apprenticeships, vocational or in-work training. We support a diverse range of work and training environments including corporate, retail, commercial, care-sector, construction, leisure, entertainment and many more.

Access to Work is a publicly funded employment support programme, provided by Department for Works & Pensions (DWP), which aims to assist more people with disabilities to start or stay in work. DWP manage the applications which can provide practical and financial support if the individuals have a disability or long term physical or mental health condition. The grant can pay for assistive equipment, coaching, adaptations to the office environment and even disability training for colleagues. ToHealth can support Access to Work applications (after approval) on behalf of a business by working with an individual to maximise funding.
